VEM 
|
| VEM is the cross platform document data extraction,
file format conversion and import/export SDK.
By incorporating VEM into any product or solution, companies can extract
the data and provide import/export services for various
document file formats; such as MSWord, PDF, RTF,
Appleworks, MacWrite II, HTML and EGWord.

VEM forms the foundation of the technology used by
VINC and PDF2Office ;
Recosoft's document conversion tools. Additionally,
VEM supports English, European language(s), Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Central European, Arabic,
Hebrew and Cyrillic versions of the file formats.
VEM presently supports over 55 word processing file format types.
It is being extended to include support for other types of files
such as spreadsheet, database, presentation, CAD/CAM and other
proprietary file formats. Using VEM, applications can import
and export not only the text of the file, but also the styles,
paragraph formats, headers, footers, sections, tables and embedded
graphics. VEM has also been designed
for server side solution implementation. It is fully multi-threaded
and optimized for processing thousands of files at once.
As VEM is cross platform it supports the Macintosh, Windows,
and Linux platforms. VEM can also be migrated to other platforms
as required.
VEM is based on a robust plug-in technology. Recosoft has created an SDK along with the converter plug-ins that OEMs may readily license and use as required. The SDK is provided with comprehensive documentation defining the VEM API set. Using the SDK, OEMs can interface with VEM in a matter of a few days!
Special Note - The PDF component of VEM converts PDF documents into fully editable word processing files re-creating the original construct and layout of the document - forming paragraphs, applying styles, re-grouping independent graphics elements, extracting images, creating tables, processing headers/footers, endnotes/footnotes and columns/sections.
